Pushkar is considered to be one of the oldest cities in India. Located at the northwest to Ajmer, the city of Pushkar is a favorite destination for tourists and devotees who come flocking to Rajasthan. Accompanied with an interesting mythological history, the legacy of timeless architectural heritage makes the Pushkar city tour a must have during your vacation.

History of Pushkar

The Old Town of Pushkar is dotted with historic temples and a planned city comprise of elegant shopping centers, gardens, and parks. It is a perfect place to have a Pushkar one day tour. Also known as the Town Of Fairs And Festivities, according to legends, the great Lord Brahma, who is believed to be the creator of the entire Universe had dropped a lotus on the ground which had lead to an immediate creation of a lake. Then he decided to name that place after that particular flower, and hence the city got its name, Pushkar. The city is home to the only temple that is dedicated to the great Lord Brahma in the whole world. Several Hindus consider their visit to Pushkar as the ultimate pilgrimage which must be undertaken to achieve salvation.

Jknairkerla's 5 days trip to Pushkar

It was a wonderful trip and excellent support from Mr Chanchal Hadda. Swaroop Vilas Hotel in Udaipur was good. But not really Lakefacing. It overlooks tha connecting portion between Pichola lake and one more lake. This portion is narrow and dirty, Lakefacing is not worth it. Chacha Inn was again a wonderful stay with excellent service and ambience. Thanks
