About Dhanushkodi In Rameshwaram

Tucked at the south eastern tip of Pamban Island, Dhanushkodi is a small town, which is frozen in time since the disastrous cyclone hit it in 1964. It is the land border between Sri Lanka and India. Once a town, teeming with all facilities, Dhanushkodi in Rameshwaram is now just a sandy shoreline with Bay of Bengal on one side and Indian Ocean on other side. Its ruins date back to the days when it was populated and prosperous. One of the smallest towns of the world, Dhanushkodi redefines the term isolated.

Dhanuskodi history hails from Ramayana that states this is the place, where Lord Rama with Lord Hanumana built a bridge known as Dhanushkodi Ram Setu or Adam’s Bridge to reach Sri Lanka and rescue his wife Goddess Sita from Ravana. Once victorious, Lord Rama crowned Vibhishana, brother of Ravana, as the King of Lanka. Vibhishana later asked the Lord to destroy the bridge. So, Lord Rama broke the bridge with an end of his bow, thus the name - Dhanushkodi, which means ‘end of the bow’. Devotees visit its once grand Dhanushkodi temple, which withstood the massive destructive waves of the cyclone.

Numerous years after the disaster, Dhanushkodi India narrates the tale and prove its existence. As natural calamity turned a serene place into a haunted spot, State Government declared it as Dhanushkodi ghost town. Post cyclone, people who occasionally visit here state that they have heard some weird noises and experienced some strange incidents. These Dhanushkodi ghost stories prohibit people to that visit the place, especially at after dark. Dhanushkodi tourism has gained momentum recently, as people are interested to explore the haunting charm of this isolated place. In addition, Dhanushkodi Beach is considered as one of the most beautiful sites of the town, coming up among the must visit Dhanushkodi tourist places and escalating its importance. It makes for an enthralling landscape, owing to the endless blue waters of the ocean. The location of this beach is a visual treat and an ideal spot for fun-filled times, relaxation, watching sunsets, and landscape photography.

Anmoljain's 5 days trip to Rameshwaram

This was the worst and the costliest trip of my life...all because of "book it forget it" travel company and travel triangle. Opposite to their name, they kept on forgetting the things and travel triangle guys also on the same pattern. Highlights of our trip:- While booking we asked them we need sedan car with carrier, travel agent confirmed the same thing, when we were about to leave from our home to railway station we called him again and confirmed the same thing , we had asked driver details couple of times he didn't shared those details (we were told that we will get driver details one day before of travelling). He shared us driver details when we were in the train, cleverly approx 7. When we called the driver he told me that he is not having carrier in his car as this is banned in entire Tamil Nadu (not sure if it true or not). When we asked same thing to travel agent he told us yes carrier is not available in car, You didn't tell us that you will be having more luggage.( Can someone please let me know what will be the other meaning of asking car with carrier on top of that) He forced us to pay extra 6300 rupees for some old model innova car. We got threatened by travel agent like pay 6300 or else deal directly with driver (Driver was from Madurai) At rameshwaram driver asked to pay 10 k else he will stop the trip. ( We had payed only 2 installments to travel triangle remaining amout was 15k + 6300( additional cab cost, agent told driver to collect the money from us and marked payment as done on portal) Rameshwaram trip and madurai trip was good as no more places to visit. On the day from madurai to Kodaikanal driver asked us check out late from hotel as his car is having some issues, he reached hotel to pick us at 12 , on hills car was not able go above 30 35 , 2.5 hrs journey become 5 hours journey for us. One full day wasted. For covering all the places mentioned in itinerary driver was asking more money from us and my travel agent was also forcing us to pay extra. Our Driver got changed 3 times during trip. Driver who was responsible for trip was not having proper plans to visit we were on same route for 2 days. All our time money energy wasted. Travel triangle guys also didn't listen to us, they told you directly deal with agent , agent asked us to deal with driver and driver was asking money for everything even for parking which was included in our package. This was our 4th trip with travel triangle 3 were good and this one was worst. No one was listening to our problems. Learnings :- don't believe in travel triangle and there agents this is the new way of looting the money from us, as we are out of city and had payed approx 80% of the amount to them. Note:- while talking to driver he told me that we are the 5th customer who are facing same issue, agent use to write many places to visit in itinerary which is not possible for us to go in same budget. How can I forget to mention our travel triangle advisor Abhijit...he was of no help worst fellow and worst company to book any trip. They are forcing us to give 3 stars if you give less stars your feedback will not be submitted. Nothing

Sadyaja's 6 days trip to Rameshwaram

Trip was overall good. But the jack hilltop resort booked in Kodaikanal was pathetic. The room was smelly and it has mould growing on one wall.Very bad experience in that hotel. Other than that trip went smoothly and we enjoyed a lot. The cab driver mr. Pradeep was very helpful and polite. Visit to dhyanlimgam

Ssaha's 4 days trip to Rameshwaram

Hotels of Mysuru and Ooty good. Cab driver was average, chronic bronchitis, didn't gave proper information about park opening and closing time. Karnataka Siri Horticultural Garden, should be part of itinerary.

Arun's 7 days trip to Rameshwaram

Really good service right from the booking of the trip upto the very end. Support was always available. Hotel were what we expected. The cab was right on time at the airport for our pickup. Local cab driver helped us a lot, with the best places to eat, drink tea and shopping. I would surely recommend TravelTriangle to my friends. Funny enough I was recommended TravelTriangle by my friend.

Shivanshu's 4 days trip to Rameshwaram

Our Driver Harsha Vardhan assigned for the entire trip did an amazing job. Special appreciation to him for making our trip memorable and easy. Our package was good but the itinerary could have been better with Coonoor toy train on last day rather than 3rd day as we had to comeback to Ooty all the way. And again go to the same route to reach Coimbatore airport. Hotel La Ruchi de Prince was very good including the wide range of delicious breakfast and the 5 star services. When we reached Hotel Kemps cave in Ooty on our 2nd day, we were shifted to Hotel Baron beside it but the rooms were good as per 3 star. But the food needs to be improved a lot as the dinner we had there was not that great. Due to which on 3rd day we had dinner at Anand Bhavan and it was super delicious. Overall it was a good experience and a memorable family trip. Ooty Lake boating was good. Pykara Waterfalls and lake can be avoided. Mysore palace was very photogenic. Mysore Zoo was good but you need atleast 2-3 hours to roam there.

Venkata's 5 days trip to Rameshwaram

Overall trip experience with travel triangle is average. The cab that was provided is not good as AC didn’t functioned properly. And the driver is either good nor bad. Little bitter experience we had with the cab and the driver. Supposed to get the cab changed as per the cab coordinator but he didn’t care abt it and the agent is also less bothered. For the next I personally will not prefer this agent and I will also suggest others also not to prefer this agent.
