Best Time To Visit Haridwar

Plan your trip during best season to experience the best of this stunning destination

Summer (March - June): Summer is the best season to visit Haridwar. Set in the Gangetic plains, the weather is generally hotter than the hills. Temperatures range from 35 - 45 degrees Celsius. The annual Magh mela or festival is held in the summer in Haridwar. This is also a time to savour the Ganga Arti at the Har Ki Pauri, the biggest landmark in Haridwar, making this the best season to visit Haridwar.

Summer in Haridwar is also the time for festivals like Ramanavami (March-April) and Buddha Poornima (May) thus making it one of the best time to visit Haridwar.

For those seeking a break from all things spiritual, there is the Chilla wildlife sanctuary and the Bara Bazaar.

Monsoon (July - September): Torrential rains in these months shut down Haridwar. July, when the rain just begins to set in, sees the brave heart pilgrims flock in for the Kanwar Mela. The Kanwar Mela alone is estimated to draw 3 million pilgrims every year.

August is the wettest month with roadblocks and overflowing rivers. Monsoon in Haridwar is not an advisable time to travel this pilgrim town.

Winter (October - February): Tourists flock to Haridwar to wash their sins away with a dip in the holy river Ganges. Dropping temperatures during the winter months turn the freezing cold water for a dip. But this does not deter the pilgrims. They still come seeking blessing to Haridwar in winter though covered with heavy woollen clothes.

This is the time to seek all the blessing of the deities in this pilgrim town. Chandi Devi temple, Bhimagoda tank, the Daksha Mahadev Temple, the Manasa Devi temple and many more set on hillocks surrounding Haridwar. The spiritual souls can also visit the Patanjali Ayurveda centre, which propagates holistic healing. Shantikunj and the Sapta Rishi Ashram also are a big draw for worshippers.

Diwali, the festival of lights, takes on a different meaning in this town, with every nook and corner being lit to usher in all the blessings, making this the best time to go Haridwar. Karthik Pournima is another festival celebrated in November with all pomp and gaiety. This makes this best season to visit Haridwar.

Anup's 3 days trip to Haridwar

Hotel in bhimtal is good but not the other one in almora. Itinerary Planning can be even better..as most of the time on 2nd day went away in travelling and with very difficulty was able to see one place. However, travel triangle team was responsive all the time and addressed all issues in time. Cab driver was very supportive and took care well

Prateek's 3 days trip to Haridwar

All things were good in trip but only regret with Hotel room. It was too small compare than others hotels like you just enter and over. Bed is also too small to accommodate 3 persons (male, female and 2 yrs child) Ambience of resort and peacefulness.

Dr's 6 days trip to Haridwar

Booked a trip for Uttarakhand (Nainital Ranikhet Almora Kausani) within a very short notice. Arrangements made by tripsailer.com was awesome. Everything went smooth starting from stays upto conveyance.. all the hotels were just fantastic with perfect hill view.. just didn't like the cottage at Ranikhet..its location was also not so good..far away from main city, though view was good but the hotel packed in service, maintenance and food. Stay in nainital was the best part, near the mall road with perfect lake and hill view..loved the place..
